Brooklynn Johnson —
Louisiana Early Childhood
Teacher of the Year
For me, teaching isn’t just a career, it’s a lifelong calling. Since I was a little girl, my only dreams were to become a mother and a teacher. Today, I live those dreams every day. As the 2026 Early Childhood Teacher of the Year, I bring over 10 years of expertise and a deep passion for early development to my classroom. I spent eight years as a dedicated Head Start teacher before transitioning to my current role in Pre-K. My teaching philosophy is simple: "Love is the real curriculum." I focus on creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe to try, fail, and grow. I love being a child’s first experience in school. I’m dedicated to ensuring every child’s first school experience is filled with joy and a sense of achievement. Guided by the motto "Progress over perfection, watching their faces light up when they reach a goal is the best part of my job! A resident of Kinder I am a devoted wife and mother to two sons, and two fur babies! I am a lover of long naps, good laughs, family vacations, and baking sweet treats for my loved ones.
